An early morning visit to another tourist trap. This time it is a famous Beijing Jade Works Factory.
And holy shit, just look at the parking lot of tour buses! The place just kept getting bus load after load of tourists to look at jade things.
The Ming Tombs (Shisanling), entrance gate of Changling Tomb, Gate of Eminent Favour (Long'enmen).
The Ming dynasty lasted from 1368 to 1644 and has the best perserved graves.
The garden before the temple.
Thirteen of the sixteen Ming Emperors are buried here. Well, actually about 7 km from here down the Sacred Way (Sendao).
The Hall of Eminent Favour , like many has these dragon heads which collects the rain and spits it out its mouth.
The Changling Tomb is the best preserved and largest of all 13 tombs.
Behind this is the Stela Tower which has the words "Mausoleum of Emperor Chengzu". Due to spiritual reasons, I can't take a picture of that.
Me and the grinning dragons!
Say Cheese!! |
The next tourist trap place. This is a Korean company that makes traditional medicines.
But for me, I am not interested that weird experimental medicine crap. I was more interested in LUNCH.
And alas so, a reasonable lunch.
